First Birthday/Second Thanksgiving Photo Dump Pt 2

Yes, there will be a part three.

It’s been a while since my hand has been chewed on like this. It was amazing realizing Phoebe was that size only 8 months ago

It did take Phoebe a little while to get comfortable with all these extra people around.

Sonje was a little concerned about what Linus was and whether he was going to get eaten. Eventually Linus gave Sonje a good long face lick and that got a big smile and giggle.

Watching Phoebe interact with Sonje was always interesting. I have no idea how the interpret this pose.

First Birthday/Second Thanksgiving Photo Dump

There were a ton of photos taken and I’m still trying to track down a few, but here are some of the best ones. I can’t guarantee these are in any meaningful order, but I’ll try to group them by what’s going on.

Family

Two sets of Grandparents, one set of Godparents, a Godbrother, a proud Mom and Dad, and of course the star of the show.

Singing Phoebe’s First Happy Birthday

Her Mom went to all the trouble of baking her a delicious mini chocolate cake, but Phoebe was surprisingly uninterested. She loved playing with the frosting though! She would squeeze it between her fingers and rubbed it all over her outfit. While she was busy with that we all felt it was the right time to sing to her. She still loves music of all kinds and one of the most reliable ways to get her to giggle is to pick her up and bounce her to whatever music is playing. Some of the pictures from the weekend will be posted tomorrow.

We were fortunate to have Jo, Becca, and Sonje visit for Thanksgiving/One Year Birthday. Phoebe had met Sonje before but Sonje was too young to really interact with much. There are more pictures of these two God-Siblings being cute together, but for now please enjoy these two minutes of Phoebe either trying to hug Sonje or wrestle with him.

Phoebe’s One Year Checkup

My apologies for neglecting this blog for a while. It has been a busy month but I assure you the little lady is progressing quickly and happily. I will have some adorable videos up of her tomorrow, but for now I wanted to give the results of her one year check up.

Height: 30.3 inches 83%

Weight: 22.3 pounds 69%

Head Circumference: 17.7 inches 46%

The doctor found her in excellent health and was impressed at how stable she was on her feet already. She’s not only walking, but practically running and walking backward now too. Her blood tests all looked good although she wasn’t happy with getting needles for a blood draw and needles for a vaccination in such rapid succession.

Stay tuned over the next week for some videos along with the adorable photos of her interacting with her God-brother. I’m doing my best to collect all the photos from the people we were fortunate enough to have come visit for her 1st birthday.

 

 

Nine Month Birthday!

Today Phoebe turns nine months old. Tomorrow she’ll have a checkup, the first one she doesn’t have to get shots at, but on a birthday there must be great food. Instead of cake we went for yogurt with blueberries. She really seems to have picked blueberries as he favorite food so far which seems like a fine choice to me.

You may be thinking to yourself that bowl seems tipped awfully far forward…

I had two choices, I go for the bowl, or I go for the camera. I stand by my choice.
